A sovereign superyacht for the 21st century. The draughtsmen have given full rein to their imagination on the potential requirements of two specific hypothetical owners. To mark the year of the King’s coronation, Feadship Royale speculates on how King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima – and the country which they serve – might use a Feadship.
Majestic and modest. Exuding class while remaining down to earth. Glamorous and stylish yet practically minded. These fascinating contrasts are the hallmarks of the modern Dutch royal family.

The expansive glass in the superstructure and interior is inspired by the transparent nature of the Dutch, who pride themselves on their no-nonsense honesty and openness. Feadship Royale also had to balance the modesty of the Dutch royal family, with a European palatial experience appropriate for receiving dignitaries from around the world.
From heads of state to schoolchildren, those invited aboard would enter via the grand three-storey atrium. Beginning in the beach club and rising to the main deck, glass floors bathe the atrium interior with light, making it an elegant reception space and ideal exhibition area.
The sweeping walkway and facade provide a dramatic connection between decks. And the absence of bulwarks allows the interior to absorb lots of natural light.
The royal family enjoys a close relationship with the people, and the open aft deck design reflects this. Here the family can entertain guests at public events and receive smaller private tenders in style as they moor alongside.
When the royal family has time for themselves, an all-glass three-storey retreat in the bow offers the perfect escape. Only entered from the family apartment and with one-way visible glass, it is a private place to take in the scenery as Feadship Royale slices through the waves.
The comfortable ‘royal deck’ includes four suites and a dedicated lounge and country kitchen area. The layout creates an ideal, open plan family apartment with panoramic views.
Two medium-speed 2000kW diesel generators would ensure that Feadship Royale surpasses the IMO Tier III and EPA Tier 4i lower emission regulations, due to come into force in 2020.
