In 2009 Arthur van Berge Henegouwen, the grandson of Jan van Lent, discovered the 15.57-metre Ammerland in Lübeck, Germany. Originally built for a German noble family living on their Ammerland estate, the yacht wasn’t actually for sale when he found her. However, when the owner noticed Arthur’s interest and realized the purchase had emotional value, he was willing to reconsider. That summer, Arthur purchased the boat and had Ammerland restored and returned to her former glory.
