Zwerver

1956

This is Zwerver

The 17.33-metre Zwerver (Wanderer) was a design by Sparkman & Stephens from New York. The captain/owner O.J. van der Vorm (1924-2011) achieved many successes with his yacht, including winning the first major sailing competition – the Holland-Harwich Race – by a large margin. He would go on to win first in competitions, including the Brittania Cup and the North Sea Race. Zwerver also holds the almost nostalgic distinction of being the last large wooden sailing yacht to leave the De Vries yard in Aalsmeer.
