Dhafir

1980

This is Dhafir

A lengthy sales trip to the United Arab Emerates in the mid-1970s resulted in a pair of important commissions for Jan van Lent and Frits de Voogt: Abu Al Abyadh and Dhafir. Feadship successes in the Middle East were largely due to the name recognition following the launch of the 64.64-metre Al Riyadh and the 48.00-metre Daria, the latter receiving immense attention upon arriving in her home region. The 40.50-metre Dhafir, was the more petit of the bunch, and one of the most Western in appearance. She cruises close to home and still sails under the UAE flag.
