My Gail II

1981

This is My Gail II

The first Bannenberg-DeVoogt collaboration produced the first major change in window shapes for Feadship. Jon Bannenberg championed strong horizontal lines, thus the rectangular windows for hull and superstructure. Window shapes, of course, were one of the smallest challenges the Bannenberg collaboration brought to the yards over the years. The bridge windscreen appeared to wrap down the sides of the upper deck in a bold, unbroken swath of glass, a feature that would not be physically possible nor acceptable to classification societies until decades later. Her flattened sheer line would be adopted on the yachts of owners seeking a more modern look.
