This kit rigged 19.00-metre motor sailing yacht was one of the larger and more powerful sailing yachts built in Aalsmeer, with three cabins and space for 5 guests onboard at the same time. The client was a Dutch industrialist from Beverwijk and the design by H.W. de Voogt. The hull was made of 5 to 6 mm thick steel, the decks of 40 mm teak and the panelling of mahogany and teak. The (auxiliary) engine was a GM diesel, type 6071 and delivered 170 hp. Built under Lloyd’s approval 100 A 1, Oceanus II first sailed extensively through Dutch waters before its new owners transported it to Geneva under the same name.
