Utopia

2018 (Launched 2004)

This is Utopia

The second largest Feadship at the time of her launch, Utopia was instantly judged as the epitome of high-tech sophistication. Her owners have ensured she retains this status with a number of refits at the Feadship Makkum yard. An exterior refit in 2007 created extra lounging options based on actual experiences at sea while a second refit project in 2013 included a repaint of the superstructure, various interior works, an overhaul of the stabilisers, and service work on the cooling system, shaft, HVAC, passerelle, crane and alternator. A new HMSA Sewage treatment plant system allowed Utopia to operate for extended periods in all cruising areas and ports, fully meeting the authorities' requirements. Shore convertors were installed to enable the Feadship to hook up to both 50 and 60 cycle power networks. "This project once again made sure that Utopia has the highest pedigree possible in the world today" says Captain Kevin Collins in our extended report. In 2018 a third refit period in the Netherlands saw Feadship carry out technical maintenance, upgrades and paint work between two charter seasons.
