Built for an American owner who wanted the interior to amuse and delight his guests, Florida-based designer Susan Puleo stretched Feadship’s comfort level by designing a transparent glass floor on the upper deck connecting the wheelhouse to the sky lounge and provide a view of the entrance foyer below. Living up to its Circus II name, the extensive use of mirrors heightened the magical Alice in Wonderland effect, as did the ‘clown’ coats of arms and shield which popped up in the strangest places around the yacht. Mirrors, gold and sleek surfaces marked this as a real statement of the 1980s interior trends.
