The 57-metre Feadship W was involved in an unfortunate incident at the Bahia Mar marina in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday 17 January when a smaller boat docked next to W caught fire as it was being refuelled. Thankfully, swift action by the crew of W and the local fire brigade ensured that this flash fire caused only minimal damage to the Feadship.

Apart from some broken sleep, no-one was hurt in the incident. The only part of W affected was the clear coat on the starboard bow, which was a little burnt by the flames.

Having recently completed a very successful ten-month refit last summer at one of the Feadship yards in the Netherlands, W will now tap into the skills of another part of the worldwide Feadship Service Network. The minor repairs required to her metallic sliver hull will be carried out at the nearby Rybovich Superyacht Marina, ensuring W is swiftly made ready for her owners to continue their Feadship adventures.
