About Tiky

In the 1960s, the Kaag shipyard was active in building yachts for various European countries including Germany, France and Belgium. The family’s reputation for friendliness and gezelligheid (a favourite - and untranslatable - Dutch word, meaning a mixture of warmth and cosiness) began to play a crucial part in maintaining good relations with clients. As remains the case today, repeat orders often resulted. The 19.08-metre Tiky (1961) and 17.80-metre Sirena III (1967) were respectively the fourth and third yachts for the same owners.
